Hey everybody!
I'm so excited to be going to Swaziland with y'all this summer!!
I know God has some wonderful things in store and I can't wait to get there.
I've had a lot of fun reading y'all's posts and waiting to get the authorization to post one of my own. π
Like Stacy said, she, Cait, and me met a few weeks ago at the AIM base for leaders' training. Basically…we're gonna have a super-fun summer and a great team.
So who am I?
I guess that's an important question to answer in a bio…
My name is Caleb and I am 21 years old. I'm going to graduate from NC State University in December (whoo-hoo!!) and I love the Lord a lot! π
I grew up in Raleigh, NC, and enjoyed life a lot. My mom and dad are both Christians and have both spent a lot of time on the mission field. They love me and my brother Josh (19) and my sister Jessie (16) so much. They're a great example to me. I went to a great church and came to know the Lord when I was 5. Since then, He has continued to reveal Himself to me and I've seen Him change me more and more every day.
In 2003, when I was 13, I went on my first mission trip. A few people from my church went to Lima, Peru, and I saw the world as I had never seen it before. God changed me there, and called me to foreign missions. That call never wore off, and I've been back to Peru 7 times. Last summer, I worked in Buenos Aires, Argentina for about a month and 1/2 with Campus Crusade for Christ. It was a beautiful time with the Lord and the Argentines, and I'm excited to go back some day.
I've loved AIM for a long time, but have never worked with the ministry before this year; however, God has been opening some new doors and I'm excited to see His plan as it unfolds.
Some fun facts about me:
My birthday is October 25th…same as Stacy's!
I speak Spanish pretty well. π
I studied in some of the highest mountains, driest deserts, and rainiest forests in the world! haha
I used to be lactose intolerant, and am just now learning how delicious cheese is!
My favorite color is orange.
I'm a web designer. See?
I love music, and I play the piano.
I like reading a lot.
I've been mistaken for a number of famous brothers (a Jonas brother, a Mario brother, an Avett brother, and also one of Mumford's sons)!
I'm so excited! Can't wait to meet you all…You're in my prayers!
Some Prayer Requests
- Our trip to Swaziland!!
- I am also helping lead my home church's trip to Peru this June, so I'd love your prayers for that!
- I'm teaching at a conference in Pallisa, Uganda in November, and I want to see God open eyes to see the beauty of His Son and the Love that He showed at the cross!!
- For school…with exams coming up and then one more semester, it is hard to be motivated to do school when I think about Swaziland. π
- In January, I plan to move to China to teach English. I'm excited, but really nervous.
- Pray for my brother, Josh. He serves in the marines, and doesn't really know Jesus yet.
